What is the best country in the world for horses, and horse jobs?

Files under horses | Posted by admin

Canada?
USA?
United Kingdom?
Australia?
Ireland?

For keeping horses, and getting veterinary jobs?
And the most variety of horses, and cheapest supplies?
And also the best climate?

Thanks everyone!
oh, and only people who actually know about horses please, i dont want short pointless anwsers…
thanks again!

It depends on what part of which country… for example, in Canada, you probably wouldn't get too many horses up North, but down South the horse industry is huge, especially in Alberta/Saskatchewan. Ontario also has a big horse industry (mostly recreational).

It's just a matter of opinion really.

Australia is pretty good if you ask me. :)

The time I have spent in England, has been fabulous, with fantastic riding instruction.

Then Germany was wonderful for working with Hanoverian - I've been passionate about those and breed them. I loved the stud that I worked at and learnt a tremendous amount.

And don't forget NZ, the climate is tolerable, there is a great mix of warmbloods, tb, standard breeds, sporting horses. The keeping of animals is reasonable, and there are many vet positions. Many Irish vets work in NZ for the breeding season then return to Ireland. NZ imports and exports livestock all around the world.

You'd need to pick the area wisely in Australia, some areas are extremely hot, wet or expensive. But in the right area - simply superb.
